Mixed fortunes for junior teams

BLYTH RFC Under-13s travelled up the A1 to face a well drilled Berwick side with a number of players making their debuts.

Blyth battled hard in defence and attack but a heavy field and a talented Berwick side proved just to strong on the day as the home side won 30-15.

Tries for the visitors came from Ethan Hall, Adam Simmons and man of the match Tom Marshall

Meanwhile the under-14s also travelled to Berwick.

With a heavy pitch the game proved to be a test of fitness.

Blyth spent a large part of the first half defending their line with David Fairburn and Martin Quinn proving solid in defence. although they still trailed 17-10 at half-time.

In the second Blyth threw everything into their game as they dominated scrums and lineouts.

They were rewarded with a great 28-24 victory with tries from Josh Brown, Kai Burns and Connell Martin (2), with all four converted by Robbie Mitchelson.
