The Morpeth Riverside Lodge will host the professional debut of regional middleweight Danny Wall.
The Pegswood-based fighter, who is managed and trained by Tommy Conroy, will be on the Steve Wraith-promoted ‘New Kids on the Block’ show and is looking to make an impression as he puts Morpeth on the map.
“This is going to be huge, awesome to be honest,” an enthusiastic Wall told Relentless Promotions.
“It will sell out, that I’m sure. It’s not just because I’m boxing either, more that the town is being put on the map and people will be wanting to get involved from day one and I can guarantee that all those who will be there on September 18 will be there for the next one, and the one after that as well.”
Announced at the initial press conference for the upcoming Summer Showdown, Wall has claimed titles on the unlicensed scene and is looking to transfer that winning mentality to the pro ranks.
With his amateur boxing experience included, and under the tutelage of Conroy, he has the tools to go far with the right application.
“I was initially training for a debut on July 24 and have continued in the same vein,” Wall added.
“This has worked out better for me and I’ve not struggled with anything so will be coming into this really strong.
“I’ve had some great sparring with good friend and fellow pro Craig Nicholson, who is looking brilliant and hopefully he’ll be back soon.
“Tommy has also had a few other fighters in for sparring as well.
“Being with Tommy, I’m improving all the time and we have a really good relationship together, which has helped me gain a lot of respect for him at the same time.”
Tickets for the ‘New Kids on the Block’ show at the Morpeth Riverside Lodge are available directly from Danny Wall via 07732 236762.
