A TOTAL of 11 teams from the Blyth and Bedlington School Sport Programme took part in the Year 4 netball festival a Blyth Sports Centre.

Each team played nine games, and for most of the players it was the first time they had played competitively outside their own school.

The progression from the first to the last games was very pleasing, with the girls learning the rules, and improving their passing, catching and shooting skills as they went along

After some frantic and hotly contested matches, the winners were Morpeth Road Primary School, who won all their games, with Bede Academy close runners up, having lost only one game to the eventual winners.

Well done to all the teams from New Delaval Primary, Horton Grange Primary, Stead Lane First School and Whitley Memorial First School, who also participated.
