Reigning British Elite League Champions Wednesfield Aces from Wolverhampton make their first ever visit to the UK’s newest cycle speedway club on Sunday.
Northumbria Vikings are treating the friendly as a warm-up for their tough Northern League season which kicks-off in a few weeks at Edinburgh.
And Northumbria are expected to use two of the Scottish club’s top riders as guests to bolster their ranks against Wednesfield as they are without their British champion and club captain Gavin Parr this weekend.
The Aces start their season with another friendly at Edinburgh on Saturday before calling at the Northumberland track on their way home.
Currently the Vikings run school classes on Wednesday afternoons but anyone, any age, is welcome to attend training sessions on Tuesday nights from 6.30pm, currently under floodlights for the winter.
There are various age groups from U8s to O60s, and the club tries to keep those at each ability level together to ensure fair competition.
There are club bikes and all equipment available free of charge for anyone interested in trying the sport.
Entry on Sunday is free, the track is behind the tennis courts at Cramlington Learning Village and the action starts at 1pm.
