Singer wins fight in less than two minutes

NEWBIGGIN Boxing Club had one fighter in action at the Hylton Castle show last Thursday in Sunderland.

Brandon Singer, coming off a stoppage win in his first outing at Newbiggin, took on Hylton Castle’s Ben Mellefonte.

A confident Singer took control from the first bell, placing powerful shots to the head and body, forcing a count within one minute.

From this, the writing was on the wall and when the referee signalled them to continue after the count, it only took 20 seconds for Singer to stop the fight.

Next week sees Billy Sankey, Carl McLaughlin and James Moore travel to Carlisle and Lewis Scott continue his championship run in the NACYP quarter-finals at Wakefield. No opponent has been named as yet.

Scott and Newbiggin Boxing Club thanked Chris from K Plastics for his sponsorship towards equipment costs.
