Students make the grade at taekwondo

Students from the Ashington Northumberland Tae Kwon-Do Club recently achieved grading success.

The students were Oscar Roxby (6), Zak Spratt (9) and Lucy Dack (9).

Oscar progressed to 8th Kup with the highest pass of a ‘Star’ pass, Zak achieved 9th Kup and Lucy achieved 4th Kup.

They impressed the grading examiner, Master Walton 8th Dan, one of the founding members of the Tae Kwon-Do Association of Tae Kwon-Do, TAGB, with their focus, determination and drive to succeed.

They are now working hard towards the next competition and grading.

The club are currently taking new students who would like to join, who like a challenge, want to stay fit and develop their inner warrior!

The Great British Taekwondo organisation which train Olympic athletes are currently looking for athletes over the age of 13 who love sparring to be the next generation of Olympians.

If this is something you would absolutely love to do, start training now for the 2024 Olympics and follow in the steps of Jade Jones or Bianca Walkden!
