In only her third season in competition, Cramlington-based Taylor Scott has been crowned a British motocross champion.

The 14-year-old took the title after two days of racing at Maisemore in Gloucestershire.

In three races on the Saturday, she finished third in the first, despite coming off twice. And she followed up these finishes with another two third positions in the next two competitions.

On the Sunday, the opening race brought a superb first place finish and put her joint first in the competition.

In the final event, Scott fought her way through from a mid-pack position to take third at the chequered flag and secure the national title.

The success followed a fourth place finish in the 85sw class in only her first season as a member of the NEMXC north east motocross club.

In her second season she competed in the 85bw class and finished third, and despite a few trips to A&E she competed in the national finals this month with the podium win putting her firmly on the map.

Scott has received invaluable sponsorship support by Nick Hubb at Hubbway Plant and Tool Hire in Cramlington.
