Julie Thompson beat Claire Stainsby to win the Milton Anderson Memorial Ladies darts competition at Bedlington Station WMC.

Stainsby reached the final by getting the better of Jackie Smith, Joy Wanless and Chris Caldow, while Thompson did not lose a leg in her wins against Rachel Brown, Sara Rose, and Donna Rydz.

Scores of 80, 83, and 135 put Thompson ahead in the final, and while Stainsby scored heavily in the second leg with 134 and 180, finishing let her down as Thompson battled back with 85 and 135 scores to go 2-0 before taking another 3-0 with 81, 83, and 100 scores to claim the £250 first prize.

The organisers thanked sponsors LWC Northeast and for their support during the recent competitions.
