Two open days at Cambois Rowing Club

Cambois Rowing Club are holding two free open mornings on Saturday and Sunday from 9am to noon.

This is a chance for anyone aged 12 and above who has been inspired by the Olympics and is interested in trying out rowing as either a sport or a leisure activity.

Visitors will be shown basic strokes on an indoors rowing machine before being taken out on the river Wansbeck with experienced rowers in either a four or an eight to put the learning into practice.

There will be the opportunity to sign up for a ‘Learn to Row’ course, which runs for a number of weeks.

There is no need to book for the open days, just turn up between the times and club members will be in attendance.

It is advisable to wear sports clothing and nothing too baggy, and not jeans.
