ASHINGTON ABC produced two wins out of three at the Holiday Inn, Seaton Burn, on Friday.
First to the ring was junior Joseph Mullen on his third bout of his young career.
After coming off a stoppage win in his last fight he faced unorthodox Biar Gibson of Jab Catterick ABC.
It took a while to work the young opponent out and Mullen trailed the first round but turned it round in the second and third.
He was unlucky not to close the points deficit and lost on a close decision.
Next up stepped Brad Watson. After having 12 months out of the ring, he came back with a bang against home show boxer Jordan Monoghan.
This was a good fight with Watson prevailing with a convincing winner.
Stephen Burrell stepped up third for the Ashington Club.
The 27-year-old super heavyweight, in his first bout, also performed well and came out a unanimous winner, commanding the fight from the start.
Overall a good night for Ashington, a small club but a lot of heart in the ring.
