Newbiggin Boxing Club’s 2013 schoolboy champion Joe Tyers received a bronze medal in the British three nations competition at Motherwell.

To reach this stage was an achievement in itself but to perform like he did was something else. He was very unlucky to drop a close points decision in the semi final.

On Friday, May 10, it is the professional debut of Newbiggin light middle weight, Lewis Scott.

He takes on Cumbria’s durable Martyn King. Lewis makes his debut in front of a star studded audience, including middleweight superstar Roy Jones Junior, at the Elland Road banqueting suite, Leeds.

A limited number of tickets are still available from Newbiggin Boxing Club.

Tickets include three course meal, wine, waitress service, a talk in with Roy Jones and four fights of pro boxing. Price is £80.
