Watson and Dobey through to Whillis Memorial finals night

THE final qualifying round of both the Ian Whillis Memorial Trophy, sponsored by Coors Brewers, and the Milton Anderson Memorial Darts Trophy for ladies, sponsored by the Newcastle Beer Company, took place on Monday.

John Watson and Arthur Dobey were the top two players to complete the line-up for finals night.

Watson got the better of Steven Lumley, Micky Luke and Greg Falcus before coming to terms with Adam Young in the first final.

Young himself had to be at his best to cope with Mark McNally and Kevin Watson on his way to the final.

Arthur Dobey was in fine form with wins over Lee Williams, Robbie Scott and Graeme Stoddart to reach his final against Chris Dobey, who proved he is one to watch for the future with good wins against Neil Falcus and Tony Wood before succumbing to of Arthur Dobey.

Donna Rydz and Joy Wanless qualified for the Milton Anderson Memorial Trophy.

Rydz beating Karen Sydney and Vanessa Dickinson, and Wanless getting the better of N Kelly and Lilian Frost.
