ROUND three of the Ian Whillis Memorial Darts competition took place at Bedlington Station WMC.

Durham’s Paul Knighton and Bedlington’s own Matty Willis were the big winners on the night.

Knighton came through a tough field consisting of Ian Arkle, Micky Luke and Arthur Dobey to take his place on finals night.

Meanwhile Willis made the best of an early bye before coming to terms with Chris Bradley and Michael Grieves in two tough games to claim his place.

The ladies’ Milton Anderson Memorial Darts Trophy competition also took place at Bedlington Station WMC.

Eve McLean had to be at her best to fend off Jackie Smith and Rachel Brown to secure her finals night spot.

Liz Kelly then defeated Geraldine Jones by the odd game in five before going on to beat Natalia Kelly in another tight game to book her place on finals night in August.
