Cricketers walk for a defibrillator
Players and members from Ashington Cricket Club put themselves through a gruelling coastal sponsored walk recently with part of the proceeds going towards the purchase of a life saving piece of equipment.
The group of 18 covered a distance of 35 miles en route from Low Newton in Seahouses back to the Ashington based club in Langwell Crescent and hope to have raised funds to buy a defibrillator.
The 18 walkers were: Greg Williams, Steven Boyd, Mel Harmison, Lindsay Dunning, Marni Williams, Sam Richardson, Dale Ross, Ian Sharkey, John Turnbull, Jack McCarthy, Cam Skinner, Scott Dunn, Matty Collins, George Collins, Callum Storey, Alex Storey, Jack Jessop and Verna Stolle.
