Ashington run in eight tries

Arkle went over for a second try and the visitors were 3-10 in front, only for Carew to level with a converted try.

Ash then added three further first half tries through Arkle and Weeks (2) for a 10-27 half-time lead.

In heavy rain, the home side made it 15-27 with an unconverted score, but Ash responded with three more tries from Taylor, Jarvis and Nichol, the conversions extending the advantage to 15-46.

Ash 2s had a fantastic 15-22 win against Morpeth Stags.

This week Ash have a tough away fixture to table-topping Guisborough.
