Six tries, but loss for Ashington

After conceding a penalty, debutant Karim crossed for a well taken try, skipper Jonny Arkle adding the first of four conversions.

A further Bishop penalty and try was followed by the first of Greg Henderson’s three scores, but three scores gave the the home side a 30-14 lead before Marryweather went over twice to make it 30-26 at half-time.

A home try and two from Henderson saw the score move to 42-38 before another two home tries completed the scoring.

This weekend Ashington are at home to high flying Ponteland.
