FOR the fifth race in Blyth Running Club’s Winter Series the weather conditions were perfect, helping 30 runners set their best times so far.
Only one minute separated the runners finishing in fifth and 43rd places.
As usual the lead changed hands on several occasions, but coming into the final 400 metres Rachelle Falloon and Louise Rawlinson were together, but Falloon managed to sprint away from Rawlinson to win by more than five seconds.
For the second race running 13-year-old Charley Hedley was third as she held off Charlotte Ramsay.
Robbie Barkley was fastest on the night with a time of 13.46 and Heather Christopher was again fastest lady in 16.42.
