Book seeks Cup stories

Jack Charlton in his Leeds United days.

An author is appealing for help on his new book which is marking 50 years since England won the football World Cup.

Chris Arnott has begun researching for the book which will celebrate the anniversary of the victory in 1966.

Two key members of the team were Ashington pair Bobby and Jack Charlton.

They returned to their home town for a civic reception after the final, and Chris is keen to hear from anyone who was at the event or even the final itself.

He also wants to talk to anyone who watched the final and those who were out in pubs and clubs after the victory.

Anyone who can help should email or call Chris on 07950 499550.
