The largest cosplay and sci-fi event in the North East is once again taking place at a Northumberland attraction this weekend.

The event at Woodhorn Museum on Sunday, attracts not only people from all over the region but across galaxies and time with aliens, superheros and timelords making a beeline for the Northumberland museum.

Fans of all things sci-fi will be donning their creative costumes and preparing to meet old friends for a day that promises to be out of this world. Even those not dressing for the occasion will enjoy the opportunity to rub shoulders with intergalactic visitors, time travellers and superheroes from Daleks and Doctors, Jedis and Jawas, to Darth Vader, Batman and even an Alien.

A programme of talks will take place throughout the day and there will be a Sci-Fair where visitors can pick up collectables and sci-fi merchandise. The day will come to a conclusion at 3.30pm, when everyone in costume gathers for the huge group photograph.

“It’s a fabulous, colourful day,” says Liz Ritson, from Woodhorn. “And we’re delighted to be hosting it once again. Everyone has such a wonderful time sharing their sci-fi passion and delighting unsuspecting museum visitors with their fun and games.”
