Amateur group on lookout for members

AN amateur performing arts organisation is on the look out for new members.

Blagdon Amateur Thespain Society (BATS) perform pantomimes, plays and variety shows, mainly for charity, in Cramlington Village Community Centre.

BATS will have been in the Village Community Centre 30 years this year, and the group has raised more than £30,000 for charities in this time.

Tony Livesey, from BATS, said: “To continue to keep the society strong, we would like more people to come along and join our happy and friendly group.

“If you are over 11 please come along to our meeting on Sunday, March 20, at 2pm in Cramlington Village Community Centre.

“As well as actors, we require people to work off stage – make-up artists, dressers, lighting technicians, backstage crew and so on.”
