THE 99th Wansbeck Music Festival will be coming to town next weekend.
The first part of the festival will take place from Thursday, March 10, to Saturday, March 12, where all sessions will be held in St George’s URC Church in Morpeth, except on Thursday evening, when the venue will be the town’s Chantry Middle School, with sessions beginning at 9.30am, 1pm and 6.30pm.
On Thursday morning the Mayor of Morpeth, Coun Ken Brown, will open the festival at 9.30 am, and the recorder classes will follow.
In the afternoon there will be a recorder workshop, and in the evening there will be music from the competing steel bands.
At both the Friday morning and evening performances there will be woodwind sessions, while on both the Saturday morning and afternoon it will be piano and vocal.
Morning or afternoon sessions are priced at £2, and combined morning and afternoons cost £3.
