The Valley Players are taking to the stage with a new play about overcoming loss.
Alan Aykbourne’s Absent Friends follows a group of close friends who meet for an afternoon tea party to help a distant friend overcome the loss of his fiancé who has recently drowned.
Whilst the three couples aim to keep positive and upbeat, it turns out that their problems are just as bad, if not worse, than their visitor’s.
The play finds humour in a tragic situation, resulting in a comedy of manners and social embarrassment.
Absent Friends will be at the Community Centre in Seaton Delaval from Thursday, February 20, to Saturday, February 22, at 7.30pm.
Tickets are available at £7 on the door or in advance by calling (0191) 237 2582.
