Concerns for man cut off by tide sparks call out for Northumberland rescue team

The crew tasked yesterday evening, Tuesday, April 20, following reports a man could be in difficulty at the northern end of Cresswell Scars.
A spokesperson for the team said: “Due to the nature of the incident, our flank team Newbiggin Coastguard Rescue Team were also tasked.

Hide Ad"Upon arrival on scene it was determined that the casualty was in no distress and made his way off the rocks.
"The first informant did the right thing in calling us out as they were unsure if the person required assistance or not.
"Remember if you see anyone in difficulties at sea or along the coast dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.”
The teams have been carrying regular patrols of the coastline in recent days, with the Amble crew helping in the search for a missing man on the East Durham coastline.
