DIVISION two league favourites took on division one favourites Ashington Grand in the Alan Davison Cup quarter final. In a very even game and entertaining, game the home edged home 3-1. Scott Pocklington was on target with two penalties with Tony Browell scoring the other goal. Paul Hedley was on target for the Grand. Star players were Scott Pocklington for the Royal and Ryan Lonsdale for the Grand.
