Floral award sparks memories
This picture from Rothbury sparked memories for reader David Francis. He recognised it as the 1991 Best Kept Village Competition, which was organised by the Community Council of Northumberland (now Community Action Northumberland).
He named some of those pictured as Sheila Walker, CCN’s chairman, Helen Edes, John Gregory, Jimmy Miller, Peter Dawson and Dr Rosemary Lumb, CCN’s rural officer.
