Lesbury WI, Meeting
However, Susan quickly drew us to order and welcomed everyone to the meeting, including the speaker Stephanie Yearnshire.
Minutes and matters arising were swiftly dealt with, together with the treasurer’s report, which included details of the new subscription rate – moans and groans all round.

Amble WI invited members to attend a talk at its meeting in October, and there was an invite to attend Alnmouth’s annual Winter Warmer. The ladies who lunch were quick to sign up for this treat. Any mention of food and it’s a winner.
The secretary read out a report from the Howick representative, who attended the annual AGM in Liverpool this year. She clearly enjoyed the event and hopefully even managed to do some shopping there.
The talk by Stephanie was entitled The Other Side Of Elvis.
She certainly did reveal a little known side to him, focussing on his life, rather than his music.
“I didn’t know that” was overheard many times during tea.

Birthday flowers were taken home by Audrey Miller and Dinah Mcllroy.
Dinah was doubly lucky at the meeting as she also won a raffle prize.
Next month is our AGM and the competition requires members to hunt out some Northumbrian memorabilia. Good luck.
